Weeks ago, I shared some pictures I took last year March in a community called Varimperi, where some students were learning under some thatch while the kids in the KG were learning in a supposed classroom which in all sincerity is just a death trap. I was personally scared when I went in there to take those shots.
Here is the good news
After the pictures going viral, a couple of people contacted me to see how we can mobilize ourselves to support these kids to prevent any avoidable deaths. Prof. Fred McBagonluriand myself have set up a gofundme account to help these children who are our next generation of future leaders. I also met the community where we spoke extensively on how they can support this project. The community has agreed to take care of all the Labour needs of the project, that is block laying, providing masons from the community and providing water for construction.
We are raising money to buy all the building materials from cement, stones, sand, wood and anything that will make this project see the day of light.
